Anti-graffiti-protection coatings (TRB)
Anti-graffiti-protection coatings consist of several components (sometimes these coatings only consist of one component that is usually a dissolved or dispersed agent) that cover or penetrate the concerning surfaces.
Anti-graffiti-protection coatings make it easier to remove graffiti. There is no protection coating which would be suitable for all possible undergrounds. In order to ensure a qualified order execution, a certified enterprise should accomplish an individual examination before.

Characteristics of Anti-Graffiti-protection coatings
Temporary protection coatings
Advantages:
- reversible
- less expensive than permanent systems
- easily applyable
- protection coating hardly visible
- some of them can easily be cleaned with water
- very good watersteam permeability
- depending on the system and surface: protection lasts several years
Disadvantages:
- limited effectiveness to a certain extent
- maintenance is required
Semi-permanent protection coatingsr
Advantages:
- One-layer-systems: less expensive than permanent systems
- protection coating hardly visible
- Two-layer-systems: selection of sacrifical layers is possible
- Using this system penetration of graffiti through the coating becomes more difficult
- permeable-to-water-steam systems possible
Disadvantages:
- durability to a certain extent
- maintenance hardly necessary
Permanent protection coatings
Advantages:
- durable
- adheres to many different surfaces
- good graffiti removal
- corrosion-resistant systems in different colours
- not permeable to carbon dioxide
Disadvantages:
- irreversible
- not permeable to water steam
- senitive to moisture in the masonry
- in case of fire: development of cyanogen compounds possible
- some systems become yellow
According to our experiences the following protection varieties are not recommendable:
- Coating of natural stone using two-component-coats (e.g. polyurethane)
- Coating of thermal insulation systems (if necessary after individual case examination possible)
- Coating of dispersion paint layers (if necessary after individual case examination possible)
